This site1 originated from ePerforationGauge, a very useful tool to determine the perforation of a stamp which is displayed on a graphical image. During the development of ePerforationGauge also other philately related 'digital' tools were completed, so therefore this site is now a collection of these useful tools, all computer programs for the Microsoft Windows platform.
1My native language is Dutch and not English, so any suggestions for improved and/or better English is very much appreciated.

ePerforationGauge
... an electronic stamp perforation gauge
Version 1.0 (22-Jan-2004)
ePerforationGauge is a very useful tool to determine the perforation of a stamp that is displayed on a graphical image on a black(ish) background. Move the perforation gauge over the stamp to find the exact perforation or use the possibility of the program to automatically measure the perforation of one side or the perforations of two sides. Remarkable of ePerforationGauge is that (small) perforation problems will be corrected (e.g. a missing tooth). The most important condition for measuring the exact perforation is that the resolution in DPI (and scale in %) should be known of the stamp that is displayed on the graphical image. When the resolution and/or scale is not known but the stamp is a known variety, then the program can very probably still determine which variety it is. ePerforationGauge has all the varieties of the normal postage stamps of The Netherlands included; other varieties can be added manually. The automatic analysis takes place in (less than) a few seconds (depending on the size of the image and the speed of the computer) after which the approximated perforation to the nearest ¼ (0.25) is shown.

Smallround Cancel Catalogue
... an electronic catalogue for the smallround cancels of The Netherlands
Version 3.1 (22-Nov-2003)
The Smallround Cancel Catalogue is an electronic catalogue (computer program) for the smallround cancels of The Netherlands en has the same 'look and feel' as the catalogue on paper. The contents (the data) and the layout of this electronic version is based on the paper version of the Special Catalogue of The Netherlands and Overseas Areas, Edition 2003 issued by the NVPH in The Netherlands.

Note: The rest of the information is in Dutch only (can not imagine that a non-Dutch is interested in this, so therefore I did not translate this).

My name is Peter Paul Hek and as long as I can remember I collect stamps. I was born in Haarlem and now live in Castricum, although the last few years I partly lived in Frankfurt where I worked for 8 years. I am 39 years old, employed at Object+ and there I work as an ICT consultant, mainly for banks and especially for the departments that operate on electronic exchanges on which financial instruments (securities and derivatives) are traded.
My collection interest was primarily The Netherlands & Overseas Areas, although I now completely focus on France Réunion. Besides the stamp collecting I have always been busy with the 'digital' philately. Examples of this are ePerforationGauge, Smallround Cancel Catalogue and the Numeral Cancel Catalogues, but also designing albumpages for the perforation- and color varieties and plate- and print errors for The Netherlands & Overseas Areas. Also 'cracking' stamp catalogues on CD-ROM are a true challenge for me. On the list of cracked catalogues on CD-ROM are:
Very useful tools that I used to crack the catalogues on CD-ROM are:

Once I had the idea to sell these programs on a more 'professional' basis. However, I do not have so much interest in this. Some time ago I read on the Internet about the concept of charity-ware (also known as donation-ware). After this I decided to make these computer programs charity-ware. This means that a donation is asked for the registration and that all donations are given to charity, for which I the Dutch Cancer Institute have chosen. I have set the target donation to EUR 10,00 per program, although any donation is welcome, less or more. Distribution of the programs only takes place via the Internet (this site). For the time being I am not able to distribute a program otherwise (e.g. CD-ROM)!
This only applies for the Numeral Cancel Catalogue and the Smallround Cancel Catalogue; ePerforationGauge is completely free and does not need to be registered.
